A Cracking Day Out for Families

Grenfell Park was full of colour, laughter, and Easter cheer as Maidenhead Bridge Rotary Club hosted its much-loved Easter Family Fun Day. Now in its 14th year, the event once again proved to be a highlight of the local community calendar, welcoming more than 500 visitors for a fun-filled afternoon.

Aimed at young families with children aged 0–12, the free-to-attend event (with small charges for stalls and rides) offered a packed programme of activities. Children eagerly took part in the popular Easter treasure hunt, face painting, bunny mask making, singing, dancing, fairground rides, and, of course, enjoyed plenty of chocolate treats along the way.

New for this year were music sessions for under 5s, kindly provided by Monkey Music. These were a big hit, with little ones and their grown-ups joining in singing, movement, and the ever-popular parachute game.

The day also featured a fantastic range of stallholders, including People to Places and Stand Out for Autism, adding to the inclusive, community-focused atmosphere. Refreshments were available throughout the day, with ice creams, hot food, and freshly brewed teas and coffees helping families refuel whatever the spring weather decided to do.

Event organiser Adam Hunter said “The aim of this event has always been to bring the community together and encourage families to enjoy time outdoors. Seeing so many people having fun in the park makes all the hard work worthwhile, and we’re incredibly grateful for the continued support we’ve received over the past 14 years.”

Importantly, the event raised more than £1,800 for local charity Daisy’s Dream, which supports children and young people affected by bereavement and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

The Rotary Club would like to thank everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported the event. The smiles on the day, and the funds raised for a vital local cause, made it a truly cracking Easter celebration.
