We’re for communities

It’s often said that society works better when communities work together. From food banks to flood relief, marathons to music festivals, Rotary is always making a difference in our communities. The opportunities with Rotary are endless – here’s just a few of the ways Maidenhead Bridge Rotary is helping:
Locally
  • Easter Family Fun Day: Our annual fun day at Grenfell Park is a free event for local families to enjoy. Last year’s event attracted over 500 people, with a treasure hunt, stalls, bouncy castle, games, fairground rides and displays from local cheerleading and martial arts groups.
  • Maidenhead Food Bank: We have an ongoing relationship with Maidenhead’s food bank, collecting food from donation points, sorting and packing for distribution to the growing number of families in need.
  • Health Awareness Day: To encourage a healthy community, our free event in the town centre just after Christmas offers blood pressure checks and professional advice on stopping smoking, healthy eating and getting fit.
  • Maidenhead’s Got Talent: With the other Rotary clubs and Rotaract in Maidenhead we’re planning the 2017 event to showcase school, youth and community group talent.  Find out more by clicking here.
  • Helping out: We’ve helped out at community clean up days at Maidenhead United Football Club, Longridge Activity Centre, North Town Cricket Club and Maidenhead Waterways

Nationally
Across Great Britain and Ireland, Rotary clubs often come together to collectively support national initiatives such as Know Your Blood Pressure Day, Children in Need and Community Emergency Support, which provides assistance to communities following emergencies or disasters
