Are you a talented young filmmaker out there, all keen to showcase and develop your talents? Then we invite you to write, edit and direct your very own short film as part of the annual Rotary Young Filmmaker competition.
Participants will take their ideas from concept to reality by producing a five-minute short film based on their interpretation of the annual brief. Lights, camera, action!
Theme of entries for 2021 is : “Challenge”
Aims and Objectives The competition aims to encourage young people to:
experiment with filmmaking
use digital and/or traditional methods of filmmaking
demonstrate interpretation of the topic
express ideas through filmmaking
The competition is open to all children in these 3 age groups:
Junior: 7 to 10 years old
Intermediate: 11 to 13 years old
Senior: 14 to 17 years old
Entrants must not exceed the upper age parameter for each group on 31 August 2020.
Closing date for entries is 1st February 2021. A winner of each age group will be chosen for each District and submitted to the national final where a panel of judges appointed by Rotary will select the national winners.
